Considering taking up a new sport? Ever thought of taking up rowing? Come along and give it a try at Agecroft's taster session.
Have you watched rowing at the Olympics and thought you’d like to give it a try or have you seen us out on the river at Salford Quays? Now is your chance to give it a go. Agecroft Rowing Club is one of the largest and most successful clubs in the North West and we are running a taster day for you to come down and give rowing a try. Please select a ticket for either 12.00-13.30 or 13.30-15.00. We will run through 3 structured “stations”: land based training such as rowing machine technique and basic land exercises; on the water training, where you will have a chance to get out rowing. And finally we will give you a tour of the purpose built facility, find out about our boats and discuss next steps to join our 6 session learn to row course (dates currently TBC but likely to begin in September). We will do a couple of short sprint competitions on the rowing machine for any of you competitive ones! When is the next Learn to Row taster day?
On this day you will be shown around our facilities, and be given the chance to try out rowing both in the gym and on the water. Supported by qualified coaches you will get a taste for the sport, and should you want to take it up you will be given the opportunity to sign up to our 6 session learn to row course running over June. All necessary COVID-19 precautions will be taken and you will receive an email prior to the day with further details. How do I book onto the taster day? Tickets are available on the following Eventbrite page, to book your place: What happens after the taster day? Following the taster day we will host a 6 session learn to row course on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Tickets for this will be available to purchase separately after the taster day. The course will teach you the basics in rowing, prepare you to join our Squads and start training at a competitive level. What are my transport/parking options?
