Club Welfare
We take the welfare of all members of the club very seriously. We want everyone to feel welcome and safe at the club, regardless of background, and get as much enjoyment as possible from the sport.
Safeguarding Policy We have adopted the British Rowing policies on Safeguarding Children and Young People (Young persons guide); Safeguarding Adults at Risk; and Online Safety. If you have any concerns about safeguarding whilst at the club, or any events or races that Agecroft is attending, then please contact the Club Welfare Advisor (details opposite). Concerns, particularly if there is an urgent risk of harm to a child, can also be reported through statutory agencies (NSPCC, Local Children’s Social Care, LADO, and Police). For anyone with a child or adult protection or safeguarding concern relating to rowing, who may not wish or feel able to speak direct to the club, you can contact British Rowing, or the following organisations can offer help or support:
Risk Assessment This document outlines the risks as assessed by the Agecroft Rowing Club in terms of day rowing, night rowing, fuel storage (including refuelling) and the boat club (inclusive of Gym, kitchen, club room, changing room and boat storage area). This risk assessment will be reviewed at regular intervals throughout the year and amended in light of incidents, changing practices and new risks as they emerge. Link to the document: Agecroft Risk Assessment. Safety Plan The safety plan provides information and guidance on how to use the facilities at Agecroft Rowing Club safely and how to keep safe whilst enjoying the sport of rowing. This plan is compiled following a series of risk assessments based on the activities at Agecroft Rowing Club and is updated in light of current good practice, following incidents and changes to the club or its activities. A review is to be undertaken at least annually. Agecroft actively promotes safety, and this plan outlines the requirements that all members, other water and gym users must adhere to when using the facilities. The plan states the methods in which the clubs’ activities are undertaken to ensure they are done so safely. Link to the document: Agecroft Safety Plan. Code of conduct All members and parents of junior members are to read and adhere to the British Rowing Code of Conduct and the Club's Anti-Bullying Policy. |
