Coxing

If you enjoy competing, being part of a team and helping others to achieve their potential, then coxing might be the role for you. Agecroft Rowing Club welcomes anyone who has an interest in coxing, whether novice or an experience coxswain. Without the coxswain, no crew boat can be successful; therefore, we provide anyone who has an interest in coxing the best support from our coaches to help you become the coxswain you want to be.

Coxes are responsible for steering the boat, but it is also so much more than that. It is your role to instruct, coax, push and drive the rowers. You will make the difference to whether a team wins or loses! Coxswains are more than just individuals who simply steer the boat, they are an essential member of any crew and without them no outing, race or success would be achievable.

Our coxes have won medals at regional and national events including Henley Royal and Henley Women's Regattas. We value our coxes and the contribution they make, so much so that coxes do not have to pay a membership fee to join our club, it's free.

So if coxing sounds like something that could be for you why not get in touch?
